This fantastic four bed apartment has just been renovated to a very high standard during July / August 2010.
The Home Club
The apartment is in the brilliant Home Club complex in Tignes Le Lavachet, meaning that you can ski to the front door.
The whole building is centrally heated and supplied with hot water from one central source, so it’s always warm and there is always massive amounts of hot water, and there’s no danger of your boiler breaking down mid-winter.
The Home Club is 2 minutes walk from TC’s Bar, Scotty’s Bar, Le Brassero, The Lavachet Lounge (internet cafe), Sherpa (supermarket), the free bus stop, and the best bakery in France. At the same time it’s in a nice and peaceful setting! It’s one of the most popular buildings in Tignes for good reason.
Whilst you can ski to the front door, you’ve got to walk a whole three minutes to the piste where you can continue downhill to the Paquis and Chaudannes high-speed six seater lifts that whisk you up the hill. Such a commute!
The Apartment
The apartment is south-facing (up the valley) on the fourth floor, which means plenty of potential for spring-time apres-ski drinks in the sun on the spacious balcony!
It has just been fully redecorated, so it is in very smart condition.
Entrance Hall
The security-locked front door opens to the entrance hall which is lit by a combination of LED and halogen lighting. In the entrance hall are a set of bunk beds and a wardrobe. Doors to bathroom and living area.
Bathroom
The bathroom is fantastic. Very clean, recently repainted and with new fixtures and fittings. Lit by halogen downlighters, it comprises of a beautiful wooden vanity unit with large built-in mirror, a toilet, and a full-length bath. Best of all though is the shower. With a head the size of a small dinner plate, it’s like standing under a warm waterfall. Nothing could be better after a hard day on the slopes. We used to live in this apartment ourselves, and friends would come round just to use the shower!
Living Room
This light-flooded space looks out over the balcony to the Tignes valley and up to the summit of the Grande Motte – views do not get much better than this.
The living room has also just been completely painted and has a new set of furniture, including a massive and very comfortable sofa bed (140cm x 205cm) and a new table and chefs porter work bench.
In addition, there is a built in wardrobe / storage / larder in one corner.
In one corner is the kitchen – new pans, a dishwasher, a small oven and a fridge as well as a new chefs porter trolley that can be moved on wheels (gives a bit more work surface) are all good, but the highlight is an extreme rarity in the French Alps – a decent hob! Almost all apartments in Tignes have 2 ring electric hobs, but here we have a 4 ring halogen hob! Pure luxury for anyone who likes their food.
On top of all that is a beautiful Samsung flat-screen TV which is connected to a Sky Box which receives UK digital TV. There is no subscription service on it, but feel free to purchase your own.
All in all, this is probably the best apartment in Tignes that is available for rent for the winter.
Total price? Only GBP5475.00 for the season!
Payment for the season is upfront, plus a damage deposit.
